On Wednesday, April 3, The Falmouth Housing Trust celebrated with an open house and ribbon cutting for a three-bedroom affordable housing project on Deer Pond Road in East Falmouth.
It was a wonderful gathering of the many instrumental people who worked hard to bring this important project to completion. In attendance: Mark Dalpe of Dalpe Excavation, David Martin of D.H. Martin Engineering and Julian Suso, Town Manager and Carla Feroni, Town of Falmouth Housing Coordinator, representatives of Cape Cod 5, and many of the Falmouth Housing Trust Board Members.
Karen Bissonnette, executive director of FHT, introduced Charro Zuck, the new home owner who won the housing lottery. Mr. Zuck is a Falmouth native who works as the chef at Coffee Obsession in Woods Hole, and is a single-father of two young boys, Dante, 11, and Niko, 9. It will be the first home that Mr. Zuck has ever owned. “This is what I would conceive of as an ideal home,” Mr. Zuck said.
FHT would like to thank the couple who generously donated the land on Deer Pond and all of the individuals who donated to this project. Thanks are also due to the Town of Falmouth Affordable Housing Fund, part of the Community Preservation Fund, who provided the project with $65,000.
Thank you to the Enterprise Newspapers for sharing the story of this deserving family and showcasing the importance of the Deer Pond project and the work we do at Falmouth Housing Trust. Read the article >
